1. HOW OLD, AND ON WHAT LAKE DID YOU START FISHING?
I started fishing when I was four or five, the first lake I fished on a boat was East and West Loon Lake in Antioch.
2. WHO WAS YOUR FIRST MENTOR IN THE FISHING WORLD?
I had a neighbor and close family friend Alan Gohlke, He was not only a riot to be around, but passed his love of fishing on to me.
3. HOW AND WHY DID YOU GET STARTED GUIDING?
I started guiding more full time in 2018, With a tournament background and a passion to show people what I know, I decided to take a step back from fulltime tournament fishing and started to pursue my dream of becoming a USCG captain.

Rigging, Trolling and Casting
5. OUTSIDE OF GUIDING, WHAT DO YOU DO FOR YOUR 9-5 JOB?
I work for a large Insurance company and manage the day-to-day operations of Body shops along with managing the repairs to people’s vehicles that were involved in loss.
6. OUTSIDE OF FISHING, WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy traveling and hunting.
7. HOW BIG WAS YOUR BEST WALLEYE AND WHERE DID YOU CATCH IT?
My biggest Walleye is 32” on Green Bay.
8. IS THERE ANYONE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO THANK?
I want to thank my wife, Melissa, who puts up with my obsession with fishing! Thank you, Bill Vojak for showing me the ropes, and thank you to Alan Gohlke for teaching me what fishing was all about!
1. HOW OLD, AND ON WHAT LAKE DID YOU START FISHING?
I've been fishing since I could walk, about 2-3 years old. I started fishing the north fox river and the local ponds in my neighborhood.
2. WHO WAS YOUR FIRST MENTOR IN THE FISHING WORLD?
My dad has always been my first mentor on and off the water.
3. HOW AND WHY DID YOU GET STARTED GUIDING?
I got out of my comfort zone and started networking with local anglers in the Fox Chain o Lakes area. I witnessed many friends be successful in the guiding industry. Over time, I became friends with Anthony Zimmer at Unlimited Guide Service. Anthony inspired me to share my love and fishing experience with others and gave me an amazing opportunity.
4. WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO TACTIC ON THE WATER?
Jigging, jigging and ....jigging.
5. OUTSIDE OF GUIDING, WHAT DO YOU DO FOR YOUR 9-5 JOB?
I'm a Project Associate at an Architect and Engineering firm where I'm practicing to become a licensed Architect.
6. OUTSIDE OF FISHING, WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
Baseball, Football, Golf and Coaching are my go to hobbies. I enjoy sharing my love for sports through teaching and mentoring, especially our youth.
7. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CATCH, AND WHERE DID YOU CATCH IT?
My favorite catch is the one that got away.... Those fish continue to drive me to be a better fisherman and stay a student of the fishing game, always looking to get better each day.
8. IS THERE ANYONE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO THANK?
I would like to thank my family and loved ones for their support as I continue to chase my childhood fishing dreams.
1. HOW OLD, AND ON WHAT LAKE DID YOU START FISHING?
I've been fishing since I can remember. One of my earliest memories is fishing with my dad at Newport School in Lake County.
2. WHO WAS YOUR FIRST MENTOR IN THE FISHING WORLD?
My father has always been my mentor.
3. HOW AND WHY DID YOU GET STARTED GUIDING?
I started guiding four years ago. Guiding to me is sharing all of my knowlede that I have obtained, with the amazing people I get to meet. I enjoy making memories that last a lifetime.
4. WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO TACTIC ON THE WATER?
My go to tactic is jigging. 9 out of 10 times I am starting the day off with a Swedish Pimple.
5. OUTSIDE OF GUIDING, WHAT DO YOU DO FOR YOUR 9-5 JOB?
When I am not fishing I am an operator for Hines Lumber.
6. OUTSIDE OF FISHING, WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I really enjoy the outdoors. Fishing tournaments, drag racing cars, and bow hunting are some of my favorite things to do when I am not guiding or spending time with my family.
7. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CATCH, AND WHERE DID YOU CATCH IT?
My most memorable catch was with my dad at Newport School. I was seven years old and caught a 10 pound 23.5 inch large mouth. It is mounted on my wall and it is a day I will never forget.
8. IS THERE ANYONE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO THANK?
I would like to thank my parents for introducing me to and allowing me to fall in love with the outdoors.

With my background in education, I felt it was another way I could help people share in an activity that I enjoy.

I work as a physical education teacher and coach. I also work part time as a fireman.

My friends and family have all been very supportive. I never would have gotten as far as I have without them. Not just in the fishing world, but in every aspect of my life.
